Digital Identity Credentials
cross-border research experiment
June 2021
The SEAL project and the University of the Aegean run a research experiment for testing the usability of Identity Digital Credentials issued by the University of the Aegean (UAegean myIDs) by using the SEAL project platform. The experiment focuses in particular on the use of a recently established UAegean digital identity card, issued as a Verifiable Credential via the SEAL VC Issuer and branded as UAegean myID Card. This mobile Digital Credential is delivered to the ERASMUS+ students hosted by the University of the Aegean after their registration with the UAegean ERASMUS Application and Admission Service (AAS), and the acceptance of the submitted application from the University.
Identity Verifiable Credentials: Usability Testing
[June 2021] The experiment takes place in a real academic life setting and involves 25 students randomly selected to represent different EU countries (from the North and South of Europe) and Higher Education Institutions. The participants should take the role of a student moving from their primary University (sending institution) to the University of the UAegean (receiving Institution) in the context of a ERASMUS+ Mobility project. The experiment will be carried out in two distinct phases, Identity Issuance and Identity Consumption (or Presentation) to access a service. At the end of the experiment, the students will respond to a questionnaire.
